  Worst customer service EVER! I have never written a review before but my experience was so terrible I feel compelled to inform others in our community of what they might expect if they choose this agent/agency. As natives of the great Yampa Valley, when my husband and I purchased our home it was important to us to do as much business as we could locally. After shopping around for an insurance agent we settled on Suzanne Banning-Brookshire at AmFam. Well, I guess you get what you pay for. Within the first month, Suzanne wrote our policy under the wrong name, insured the wrong property, failed to update our mailing address (even after changing it IN PERSON at her office), and almost delayed our closing by failing to send an ACCURATE deck page to our mortgage company on time. While not happy with any of this, I kept telling myself that the price was right so I could look past these initial errors. That was until one month into owning our home I received a call from Suzanne nonchalantly informing me that AmFam was dropping our home insurance coverage, and oh, I might as well go somewhere else for my auto insurance as well. All this due to inaccurate information provided by their 3rd party survey of our home. We tried to set them straight, at the very least hoping they would go inspect the house again and make a more informed decision regarding our coverage, but they refused to even consider it. The underwriters exhibited the same level of incompetence, lack of concern, and unwillingness to help as Suzanne. During this whole process, Suzanne offered no suggestions or solutions to keeping us insured. The feeble attempts she made in contacting the underwriters were made only at my insistence and certainly not because she valued my business. I couldn't even get her to respond to me regarding how much our auto insurance would cost after losing the homeowners discount. As I mentioned before, I was just told I should probably go elsewhere. Then, after being told by Suzanne that, as required by LAW, I would have 60 days to find other coverage, I was informed I now have less than 30. So either Suzanne doesn’t know what she is talking about or AmFam is doing the wrong thing. Either way, this is not acceptable. Clearly this woman, and the company she works for, does not need my business and they probably don't need yours either. Bottom line, I wouldn't waste my time/money dealing with them. I can't even imagine the incompetence I would have had to deal with if, god forbid, I should ever have had a claim! Pay a little extra and get the service and coverage that you deserve from someone who is willing to EARN your business. Like many in our community, I am sick to death of the apparent entitlement of some businesses here. I will always strive to shop local but I will not give my hard earned money to undeserving businesses any longer. If I could give zero stars, I would.

  I recently switched my insurance to American Family Insurance because they saved me over $700/year!! I was paying almost double the amount that American Family Insurance quoted me. Suzanne also helped me understand the benefit of getting a life insurance policy for my kids. I was very pleased with the Banning Agency and would recommend anyone to go see if they can save you money too.
